Anthurium 'Delta Force' (A select clone of the A. Clarinervium x A. Pedatoradiatum hybrid)

The Anthurium hybrid known as 'Delta Force' was created by Steve Nock of Ree Gardens in the mid-nineties. When he created hybrids of Anthurium Clarinervium and Pedatoradiatum, a single plant stood out as uniquely different even though there was quite a bit of variation in the seed batch. The unique clone had a triangular or deltoid shaped leaf blade. As the plant grew, its most distinguishing characteristic was an arcuate-sagittate leaf base with undulating margins that came to a sharp arrow point at the apex. The sinus became more arcuate-parabolic emergent through the lobes as the plant matured. Lateral venation kept much of the typical venation of a clarinervium without the presence of pedatisect finger-like lobes of pedatoradiatum.

Previously the original clone has been propagated only by taking cuttings. To date there is no known form that came from seed from the clone but it now appears that seeds are forming on the oldest plant. This cross (A. clarinervium x A. pedatoradiatum) has been made by many over the years, including Steve Nock again and again, but has never resulted in a plant similar to A. 'Delta Force.' A handful of collectors from the U.S., Europe and Southeast Asia have acquired Anthurium 'DeltaForce' over the past twenty years.

Just because an Anthurium may be a hybrid of A. clarinervium and A. pedatoradiatum, it does not make it a 'Delta Force.'"

The plant offered here is TC’d from our mother plant directly acquired from Ree Gardens via NSE.
